Loss Diminishes Fine Performance by Bonds
San Francisco designated hitter Barry Bonds had a good game, even if his team did not. The Giants dropped a 7-6 decision to Colorado at Coors Field. Bonds hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Jeff Francis snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Matt Cain suffered the loss. Picking up the save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Huston Street.

Matt Holliday had a timely hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Colorado designated hitter hit a run-scoring single. That put the Rockies in front, 7-6.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Holliday.

The Rockies go to 49-89, putting them last in the National League Western Division.
