Twins Claim 5-2 Triumph
The Minnesota Twins got a strong performance from pitcher Dutch E Leonard, who stymied the Baltimore offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The winner was Leonard. He threw 8.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Mike Mussina. By defeating Baltimore, the last-place Twins improved to 60-77.

Minnesota used a big swing from Sam Rice to get the win. The center fielder walloped a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Twins up, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.

"I executed the game plan," said Leonard.
