Rockies Pick Up 6-3 Win
|
Thanks in large part to first baseman Todd Helton, the Colorado Rockies beat the San Francisco Giants, 6-3. Helton was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win makes Colorado 47-87.
With Colorado leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Helton came up to bat against San Francisco pitcher Joe McGinnity. Helton hit a fastball to left-center for a 2-run home run. His 21st home run of the season put the Rockies on top, 4-0.
"I liked our effort," said Rockies manager .
