The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Tampa Bay Rays, 5-3, in American League action at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Baltimore pitcher Mike Cuellar had a standout performance. The Orioles win now puts them at 55-75.

Jim Gentile hit a 3-run home run off Wilson Alvarez in the bottom of the second, which put the Orioles ahead, 3-1. In addition to the homer, Gentile had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

After the game, Gentile lauded his team's effort. "We kept our focus on the task at hand," he said.
