The Chicago White Sox picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, dropping the New York Yankees, 4-3. Ed Walsh, who is tied for 3rd in the AL with a 2.57 ERA, was the difference-maker. Chicago reliever Keith Foulke picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Mariano Rivera took the loss. Chicago now sports a record of 66-65.

A J Pierzynski chipped in for Chicago, stroking a crucial run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 4 with a double.

"We put it together and came out with the win," Walsh said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
