Reds Coast to 11-1 Victory
Cincinnati starter Don Gullett kept the Atlanta offense in check, while his team cruised to a win, 11-1. Cincinnati is now 65-65.

The Braves had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Reds going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 32-year old shortstop Barry Larkin came to the plate. Larkin hit a 2-run home run on a 1-2 curveball from Atlanta hurler Warren Spahn. It was Larkin's 11th home run of the year.

Atlanta manager called the blowout loss "nothing to write home about."
