Colorado Rockies starter Ubaldo Jimenez turned in a top-notch performance against the Miami Marlins at Coors Field. The result was a win for the Rockies, 8-1. Jimenez, now 7-12, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 12, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Rockies are now 44-84.

Todd Helton had a big 2-run double for the Rockies in the bottom of the third inning. With Colorado leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from Sandy Alcantara and swatted a double to left. It was his 28th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rockies ahead, 3-0.

"Ubaldo had good life on his pitches," said Colorado manager .
