Tampa Bay Rays starter Scott Kazmir found his groove in his team's 4-3 win over the Detroit Tigers. Tampa Bay reliever Roberto Hernandez was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Jim Bunning. Grant Balfour locked down his 24th save.

Yandy Díaz had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Rays. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Tampa Bay trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.

"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Detroit manager . "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
