Royals Use Late Push to Top Twins
|
The Kansas City Royals picked up a win at Target Field, downing the Minnesota Twins, 4-2. On the mound for Kansas City was right-hander Mark Gubicza, who played a pivotal role in the win. The last-place Twins now sit at 53-71.
Bobby Witt Jr. came through with a big-time hit for Kansas City. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Gubicza told reporters after the game.
