Red Sox Win, 4-2, Versus Los Angeles
|
Fenway Park was the site of a competitive game between the Los Angeles Angels and Boston Red Sox.
Boston turned a good effort from starter Dutch H Leonard into a win over the Los Angeles Angels at Fenway Park. The Red Sox won the game, 4-2. Jonathan Papelbon notched his 28th save in 32 chances.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Mookie Betts came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Los Angeles pitcher Troy Percival, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Boston on top, 3-2.
"We did a lot of things right," said Leonard.
Boston now sits at 66-58, while Los Angeles falls to 51-73.
