Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Yankees. Tampa Bay won it, 2-1, in 10 innings. Tampa Bay starter David Price was in command. Tampa Bay reliever Danys Baez was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Mariano Rivera took the loss. Tampa Bay is now 54-70, New York 75-49.

The Rays got a clutch hit from shortstop Julio Lugo. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Rays.

"Everybody in here is a professional. You have to do what you have to do," said Lugo.
