Chicago turned a good effort from starter Juan Pizarro into a win over the Toronto Blue Jays at U.S. Cellular Field. The White Sox won the game, 6-2. In 7.2 innings, Pizarro surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. The 4th-place White Sox sport a record of 61-64.

Luke Appling had a big bases-clearing triple for the White Sox in the bottom of the second inning. With Chicago leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Doyle Alexander and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 6th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the White Sox ahead, 5-1.
