The Minnesota Twins outlasted Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros, 8-6. Altuve was impressive in the loss. The Houston designated hitter was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The defeat makes Houston 60-61.

Minnesota used the bat of Joe Mauer to get the win. The catcher spanked a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Twins ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it altered the outcome.

"Glad to go home with a win," said Mauer.
