Giants Nipped, 5-4, by Chicago
|
The Chicago White Sox managed to get by the San Francisco Giants, 5-4, in 11 innings at AT&T Park. Chicago pitcher Doc White set himself apart with his performance. Chicago has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Eddie Collins Sr came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing San Francisco pitcher Brian Wilson, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Chicago on top, 5-4.
"We earned that one," said Collins Sr.
