Bell Lit, Rangers Win, 7-1
|
Thanks in large part to third baseman Buddy Bell, the Texas Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 7-1. Bell hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Matt Harrison was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. The Rangers now have a mark of 51-68.
The Rangers ran into trouble with two out in the top of the third. Tampa Bay, with the bases loaded, had Brandon Lowe at the plate. He could have changed the complexion of the game with a base hit. Instead, he flied out.
