Braves Win, Now 64-54
|
The Atlanta Braves beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 3-1, at Turner Field. Starting pitcher Johnny Sain was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Sain got the win, improving to 14-6. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Craig Kimbrel collected his 24th save.
In the bottom of the third inning, right fielder Hank Aaron had a 2-run home run for Atlanta. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Braves on top, 3-1.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Sain. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
The Braves improved their record to 64-54 by beating Los Angeles.
