The Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers squared off at Miller Park.

The Pittsburgh Pirates picked up a win at Miller Park, topping the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-3. On the mound for Pittsburgh was right-hander Howie Camnitz. He played a principal role in the triumph. The winner was Camnitz. He threw 8.1 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Cal Eldred.

Pittsburgh used a clutch at-bat from Andrew McCutchen to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Pirates ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Howie is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Pittsburgh manager .
