Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Braves
The Braves grabbed a win, 7-6, at Turner Field, overcoming a fine effort from Washington pitcher Jordan M Zimmermann. Zimmermann went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. John Smoltz was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-5. The losing pitcher was Tim Burke. The Braves bumped their record to 62-53 with this win.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 33-year old center fielder Sam Jethroe had a chance to be the hero. Washington pitcher Tim Burke wanted to foil that plan. But with no outs, Jethroe drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Braves had themselves a thrilling win.

"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Jethroe.
