The Texas Rangers welcomed the Houston Astros to an night game at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
Dick Bosman, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Rangers organization, had a strong outing for the Texas Rangers against the Houston Astros at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. In 7 innings, Bosman surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Jeff Russell picked up the save, his 3rd.
Texas took a 2-0 lead on Ivan Rodriguez's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Rodriguez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Houston pitcher J R Richard visibly frustrated.
Bosman said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Texas is now 4-7.
