The Seattle Mariners banked on Felix Hernandez and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Atlanta hitters in check. The final score was 2-1, Mariners, in 12 innings. The Mariners improved to 64-49.

The Mariners got a clutch hit from second baseman Bret Boone. In the bottom of the 12th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Mariners.

"Was I getting worried?" said Mariners manager . "Nope." Then he added, with a wink, "There was never a doubt in my mind."
