The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 6-3, in National League action at Dodger Stadium. Los Angeles pitcher Dazzy Vance had a standout performance. Vance picked up the win for Los Angeles, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 15-3. Jonathan Broxton was credited with the save, his 5th in 9 tries.

In the bottom of the second, 29-year old left fielder Pedro Guerrero hit a grand slam home run. The 11th home run of the season for the Los Angeles left fielder put the Dodgers on top, 4-0.
