Tampa Bay first baseman Yandy Díaz was instrumental in helping the Rays triumph, 5-2, over the Los Angeles Angels. Díaz slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Grant Balfour picked up the save for Tampa Bay, his 21st of the year. The Rays are now 49-62.

Carl Crawford had a big 2-run double for the Rays in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Tampa Bay leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Frank Tanana and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rays ahead, 5-2.

"Don't let his youth fool you," said Rays manager . "Yandy knows what he's doing out there."
