Big Day for McGriff as Padres Down Braves, 8-4
|
Behind the hitting of Fred McGriff, the San Diego Padres stopped the Atlanta Braves, 8-4. McGriff went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Padres. The winning pitcher was 26-year old left-handed pitcher Randy Jones. He tossed 107 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. San Diego has now won 6 straight, while the Braves have lost 4 in a row.
