The Cleveland Indians wanted a good start from Stan Coveleski -- and he delivered one. The result was a 4-2 Cleveland win over the Texas Rangers at Progressive Field. Coveleski, the winner, moves to 7-10. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up no walks. Cleveland is now 57-53, Texas 44-65.

Had Jose Ramirez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Ramirez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Indians.

"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Cleveland skipper . "It's important to have different ways to do it."
