Nationals Win in Glorious Fashion, 7-6
The Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-6, in 10 innings at Nationals Park. Washington second baseman Alfonso Soriano had an outstanding performance. He went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Tyler Clippard, 2-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. The win makes Washington 45-63.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Soriano hit a fastball from Erskine Mayer for a run-scoring single. The Nationals, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It's great when the crowd is energized," Soriano said.
