Yankees Earn 7-1 Win Versus Boston
The New York Yankees called upon starter Red Ruffing, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Boston Red Sox, 7-1. New York, now 8-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Derek Jeter had a big 2-run triple for the Yankees in the bottom of the fifth inning. With New York leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Roger Clemens, who is rated as the 34th best prospect by BNN, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Yankees ahead, 4-1.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Ruffing. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
