Athletics Procure 6-2 Win
|
Oakland turned a good effort from starter Tim Hudson into a win over the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. The Athletics won the game, 6-2. Andrew Bailey closed it out for his 2nd save. The first-place Athletics have a record of 61-44.
Jose Canseco had a big 2-run home run for the Athletics in the top of the first inning. With Oakland leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Don Wilson and swatted a home run to left. It was his 36th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Athletics ahead, 3-0.
Canseco said his team "executed a good game plan."
