Nationals Dealt 4-3 Loss by Cincinnati
|
Washington right fielder Tim Raines Sr had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Cincinnati at Great American Ball Park. Raines Sr hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Rob Dibble was called on to finish, recording his 17th save. The last-place Reds lifted their record to 49-55.
Paul O'Neill hit a 2-run home run off Pedro J Martinez in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Reds ahead, 4-3. In addition to the homer, O'Neill had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"Enjoyed this one," O'Neill told the Cincinnati Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
