Reds Use Late Rally to Win
Cincinnati Reds starter Mario Soto was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Washington Nationals, 5-2. Rob Dibble closed the door for Cincinnati, picking up his 16th save of the year. The Reds saw their win-loss record go to 48-55. At the same time, the Nationals fell to 44-59.

Cincinnati went in front, 5-2, on Sean Casey's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Casey hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Washington pitcher Stephen Strasburg visibly perturbed.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Cincinnati manager . "Our pregame was pretty good."
