Orioles Win at Seattle, 3-1
|
Baltimore and Seattle played a hard-fought contest.
Baltimore starter Mike Mussina pitched effectively against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Baltimore currently is in 4th place in the American League Eastern Division at 45-57.
Baltimore used the bat of Rick Dempsey to get the win. The catcher spanked a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it altered the outcome.
"Mike was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Baltimore manager .
