Mariners Rally Late to Nip Athletics
Oakland wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Lefty Grove, falling to the Seattle Mariners, 3-2. Grove threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. So far, the 2014 season has been disappointing for Oakland, now 4-7.

Carlos Guillen was the walk-off hero for Seattle. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mariners pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
