Pirates Stumble Versus Dodgers, Lose, 2-1

Though the conditions were not ideal, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up a win at PNC Park, topping the Pittsburgh Pirates, 2-1. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Orel Hershiser. He played a principal role in the triumph. Eric Gagne earned save number 3 this season.
Los Angeles used the hitting of Roy Campanella to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dodgers on top, 2-1. For the game, Campanella had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Campanella attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
