Ruth Goes to 7-5 in Rout of Rangers
|
The first-place New York Yankees were less than gracious hosts to the Texas Rangers.
The New York Yankees outclassed the Texas Rangers, 10-1, at Yankee Stadium. Babe Ruth, who is tied for 9th in the AL with a .895 OPS, was a major contributor for New York. Ruth threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The Yankees saw their record improve to 61-38.
Ruth went the distance for New York, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 3. He walked no one.
"It always feels good to go the distance," Ruth said.
