A good time was had by all at PNC Park, where the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates tangled.
Pittsburgh right-hander Doug Drabek pitched his team to victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers at PNC Park. The final score was 3-2. Earning his 26th save of the year was Joel Hanrahan.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Pirates had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when center fielder Andrew McCutchen hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Fernando Valenzuela and made the score 3-1, Pirates. McCutchen went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"We busted our tails," said Los Angeles manager . "But we came up short."
The Pirates now have a record of 56-43 with the win over Los Angeles.
