One Run Not Enough for Marlins
|
The Philadelphia Phillies earned a win at Citizens Bank Park, knocking off the Miami Marlins, 2-1. On the bump for Philadelphia was right-hander Ron Reed. He had a starring role in the triumph. With the win, Philadelphia improves its record to 5-5.
The Phillies got a big at-bat from center fielder Billy Hamilton. For the game, Hamilton went 2 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Philadelphia a 1-0 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Reed said after the game.
