Chicago were shut out, 5-0, by Greg Maddux and the Atlanta Braves at Wrigley Field. The Cubs offered little resistance to Maddux, who stopped them on 2 hits, fanned 6 and walked 1.

"It just felt right today," the right-handed Maddux told reporters after the win. "Even with the rain, it didn't throw me off my rhythm."
