Indians Earn 5-2 Win Against White Sox
|
The Cleveland Indians rode a solid performance from 27-year-old starting pitcher CC Sabathia to a win, beating the Chicago White Sox, 5-2, at U.S. Cellular Field. The win was credited to 28-year old right-handed pitcher Addie Joss in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Hoyt Wilhelm took the loss. The White Sox, 3-7, continue their sluggish start to the 2014 campaign.
Albert Belle delivered a big hit for Cleveland. The left fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Indians ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
Belle told a Cleveland Citizen reporter that he felt "euphoric" after the win.
