Narrow Win Takes Boston Streak to 8
|
Dutch H Leonard, who is tied for 7th in the AL in complete games with 2, played a key role in a gritty 2-1 Boston Red Sox win against the Houston Astros. Dick Radatz earned the save for Boston, his 4th of the year. The Red Sox improved to 51-43.
Boston used the timely hitting of Xander Bogaerts to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Sox on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We are some kind of hot right now," said Leonard.
