Rockies Zap Twins, 4-1
|
Kyle Freeland was locked and loaded, helping the Colorado Rockies beat the Minnesota Twins, 4-1. Huston Street closed the door for Colorado, picking up his 16th save of the year. After today's action, Colorado sits at 33-62, while Minnesota falls to 36-58.
Carlos Gonzalez had a big 2-run double for the Rockies in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Colorado leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Firpo Marberry and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rockies ahead, 3-0.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Freeland said.
