Mariners Top Twins in 12
|
The Seattle Mariners and Minnesota Twins obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
The Seattle Mariners trumped the Minnesota Twins, 6-5, in 12 innings. Seattle right fielder Ichiro Suzuki was impactful. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. J J Putz snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-0 on the season. Al Worthington suffered the loss.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the eighth inning. Facing Minnesota hurler Eddie Guardado, Alex Rodriguez, who is on pace for 100 RBI this season, hit a 2-run single. The Mariners went on to win.
"What an ending!" said a jubilant Suzuki.
With the win, the Mariners hiked their record to 52-39.
