Phillies Pick Up 8-2 Win Against Milwaukee
|
Spirited fans greeted the Milwaukee Brewers for their clash with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Philadelphia Phillies starter Zack Wheeler had all his pitches working at Miller Park. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-2 Philadelphia win over the Milwaukee Brewers. The winner was Wheeler. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Cal Eldred.
Chase Utley had a big 2-run home run for the Phillies in the top of the second inning. With Philadelphia leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Cal Eldred and swatted a home run to left. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Phillies ahead, 3-0.
Said losing manager : "Give the Phillies credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."
Philadelphia is now 51-40, Milwaukee 52-40.
