Carter Hits Two Dingers, Blue Jays Win, 7-3
|
Joe Carter was a vital contributor to the 7-3 Toronto victory over Los Angeles. The Blue Jays left fielder went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Dave Stieb was the winner. He's now 5-12. The loser was Jered Weaver. The Blue Jays raised their record to 52-41.
Toronto used a clutch at-bat from Bo Bichette to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Bichette attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
