In the bottom of the sixth, Seattle shortstop Alex Rodriguez gave his team the lead. With two out and a runner on 1st, A-Rod hit his 21st home run of the year. Minnesota pitcher Firpo Marberry surrendered it. With that, the Mariners jumped in front, 2-1.
