The Oakland Athletics and Minnesota Twins left the fans buzzing.

Twins designated hitter Chuck Knoblauch put his stamp on his team's 12-2 win over the Oakland Athletics. Knoblauch went 3-3 with a home run, a triple, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2 for Minnesota in the contest. Firpo Marberry, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held Oakland to no runs on 2 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts.

Harmon Killebrew had a big bases-clearing double for the Twins in the bottom of the second inning. With Minnesota leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Tim Hudson and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Twins ahead, 6-0.

Oakland manager called the pummeling "nothing to write home about."

With the win, Minnesota lifts its record to 5-4.
