New York Yankees pitcher Lefty Gomez whisked his team past the Minnesota Twins, 4-2. The winner was Gomez. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Dutch E Leonard. The win for the Yankees lifted their record to 53-35.

New York used the timely hitting of Babe Ruth to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Yankees ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
