Angels Absorb 6-3 Home Loss
|
Houston and Los Angeles duked it out and the Astros came out victorious.
The Houston Astros picked up a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, topping the Los Angeles Angels, 6-3. On the mound for Houston was right-hander Shane Reynolds. He played a principal role in the triumph. Reynolds, now 9-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs.
Houston used a clutch at-bat from Lance Berkman to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Astros ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Berkman told the Houston Chronicle.
Houston bumps their record to 45-44 with the win.
