Mets Handle Texas, Snag 6-3 Win
|
The New York Mets picked up a win at Citi Field, topping the Texas Rangers, 6-3. On the mound for New York was right-hander Jacob deGrom. He played a principal role in the triumph. The Mets now have a record of 48-38.
New York took a 5-3 lead on Bud Harrelson's 13th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Harrelson hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Texas pitcher Akinori Otsuka visibly frustrated.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Harrelson said. "That's why you play the game."
