4-3 Minnesota Win Thrills Crowd
New York designated hitter Babe Ruth was sensational. He threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Minnesota beat the Yankees, 4-3, in 14 innings. The last-place Twins lifted their record to 34-52.

Roy Smalley III delivered a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the 14th to win it for the Twins. For the game, Smalley III drew 1 walk in 2 plate appearances.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant , the Minnesota skipper.
