Atlanta Makes New York 6-2 Losers
The 6-2 Atlanta win over New York was due largely to Sam Jethroe. The Braves center fielder was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Atlanta's record now stands at 46-39, placing them third in the National League Eastern Division.

With Atlanta leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Jethroe came up to bat against New York pitcher Craig Swan. Jethroe hit a fastball to right-center for a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season put the Braves on top, 3-0.
