The 9-3 Washington win over Colorado was due in large part to Tim Raines Sr. The Nationals right fielder went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Nationals now own a record of 30-53.
Vladimir Guerrero aided the Washington cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-3 with a hit by pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We're not going to feel sorry for ourselves," said Colorado skipper . "Wouldn't do any good."
